GEOHAZARD MAPS Jan 19th 2013, 11:10 TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte (PIA) - The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB)-8 strongly urged local chief executives (LCEs) to make full use of geohazard maps in their contingency planning. "All of the municipal/city mayors in the region have already received their own copies of the 1: 50,000 centimeters - scale geohazard maps," said MGB-8 Regional Director Alilo Ensomo, Jr., adding that he hopes the LCEs will make full use of such maps indicating potential environmental threats to their barangays. ...
