Napocor allots P154.8M to replace old diesel engines in remote areas

National Power Corp. (Napocor) is spending P154.8 million in 2014 to replace old engines in diesel power plants in far-flung areas not connected to the main grid in order to attain efficient fuel consumption. The state-run power company intends to buy 20 diesel engines for power plants, president and CEO Ma. The replacement program will help government's power-generating arm lower fuel consumption in diesel power plants and realize corporate savings. "This will give Napocor P261 million in savings in three years after new diesel plant engines are installed," Cruz-Sta.
