Manila, Philippines - The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) yesterday said typhoon Vinta (international name "Krosa") destroyed 1,737 houses, mostly in Cagayan province where it made landfall Thursday.Data released by the NDRRMC showed Vinta caused damage to 14,911 houses and totally destroyed 1,737, including 1,716 in Cagayan, 14 in Ilocos Norte, and seven in Apayao.The typhoon also affected 24,123 families or 104,829 people in five provinces in regions 1, 2, and the Cordillera, while 1,794 people were displaced. ...
