Philippine inflation registered the fastest pace in seven months in October, fueled by higher costs of food, beverage and clothing, the National Statistics Office reported Tuesday. The inflation rate was 2.9 percent last month, compared with 2.7 percent in September, reflecting the fastest pace since last March when it registered at 3.2 percent, NSO said. "The October inflation print continues to validate our view that inflation has already hit a bottom last August and may be expected to accelerate closer to" the Bangko Sentral's target band for the year," Emilio Neri Jr., lead economist at listed Bank of the Philippine Islands, said in an e-mailed note.
