How can Google preach "Don't be evil" yet go dark? Earlier, Google stopped providing publishers with free information on what words in Google searches led people to click on their sites. Business Insider said Google took this action as it seeks to reassure users following the NSA/PRISM domestic surveillance scandal. Last June, Google had been accused of cooperating to give the National Security Agency direct access to its search data through the PRISM spying program.
