Torrent site isoHunt to shut down after losing in court Oct 21st 2013, 04:55, by Calvin One of the popular torrent trackers out there, isoHunt, is finally shutting down after losing a 7-year long court battle against the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). In a blog post by the site's owner, Canadian Gary Fung, thanks the users of isoHunt after acknowledging the demise of his creation. The site is still online as of this writing though but it will eventually be shut down. Mr. Fung agreed to settle and pay $110 to MPAA. isoHunt has been a popular source of torrent files for over 10 years. Even though it doesn't directly serve pirated materials, which is Mr. Fung's defense, the Californian court sends a strong message to those who enable and help people commit copyright infringement that they themselves are infringers and will be held accountable for their illegal actions.
