For the longest time I've been wondering who among the local mobile brands will get to release an affordable LTE handset. Somehow I'm not surprised that it's Cherry Mobile.

w900 LTE

On a photo found on one of the many Cherry Mobile Facebook pages, a refreshed version of the W900 (which was previously the Dragon) appeared along with other upcoming CM phones. The CM W900 LTE is positioned to be the most affordable LTE handset we'll see in the market in the near future. Nokia Lumia 625 (P13,200) holds that title currently.

This handset is only single-SIM but has a 4.3-inch HD display and a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. Looking at dual-core Snapdragon chips with LTE, it can be the Snapdragon S3 as found on the Galaxy S2 with LTE, or an S4 Plus which already sports a Krait processor and being used by the Lumia 625.

The W900 LTE also gets 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage (no word yet about microSD). It also comes with a 12-megapixel BSI camera with flash and it seems that a power bank is included for every purchase. That's all we can get out of the photo. Will keep you posted once this becomes official.

Now the question for you is, will you get an P11,499 LTE handset or stick with one of those LTE pocket WiFi's to enjoy mobile LTE?
