PH government takes down Kat.PH domain Jun 14th 2013, 10:08 Kat.PH or Kickass Torrents is a popular torrent site that serves all kinds of files from movies, TV shows, apps, games, books, and music. Go to that site now and it will get you nowhere. The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) issued a TRO on the domain which is registered under dotPH Domains Inc. hence blocking the domain from being accessed. This TRO was a result of a copyright infringement complaint filed by the Philippine Association of the Recording Industry (PARI) for the unauthorized use and distribution of original Pilipino music (OPM). The TRO will last for 72 hours but can be extended to 20 days. Owners of Kat.PH advise its patrons to use Kickass.to or Katmirror.com in the meantime.
