CATARMAN, Northern Samar (PIA) - As of January, 2013, the National Foood Authority (NFA) Northern Samar had a buffer stock of 23,511 bags of rice, according to NFA provincial manager Ruben Manatad. If the office were to supply the needs of the province, it can do so taking into account the Daily Consumption Requirements (DCR) at 5,840 bags vi-a-vis daily rice issues at 400 bags, stocks will last for over a month, Manatad said. Manatad said that 50,000 bags from the NFA Iloilo are due to be delivered here, a buffer stock for the first quarter of 2013.
