Aquino declares state of national calamity Dec 9th 2012, 07:00 Manila (Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN) - Philippine President Benigno Aquino III has placed the Philippines under a "state of national calamity" because of the "severe gravity of the damage" wrought by Typhoon "Pablo" in Mindanao, Central Visayas and Palawan this week.
