Smartmatic wins transmission modem bid Dec 12th 2012, 13:23 The Smartmatic-Total Information Management consortium emerged as the winning bidder for transmission modems, after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) lifted its order stopping the awarding of the bid. Under Resolution No. 9569 promulgated Dec. 6, a copy of which was obtained by GMA News Online, the Comelec "resolves to lift the order holding in abeyance the award to lot 3, supply, delivery and configuration of transmission modems to be used with the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines... and to direct the special bids and awards committee to proceed with the award thereof. ...
