Harvest down for Philippine tuna fishing firms Nov 8th 2012, 22:04 GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- Unloading of frozen tuna for canned production by Philippine fishing companies has been in a huge downtrend in the first two quarters, but a fisheries official said Thursday the catch is expected to improve towards the end of the year.From 1,771 metric tons (MT) in the first quarter, unloading of skipjack tuna by local fishing companies at the fish port complex here fell by 15 percent to 271 MT, data from the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) here showed. ...
