'Ofel' makes landfall Oct 24th 2012, 16:16 MANILA, Philippines - Tropical storm "Ofel" (international name "Son-tinh") slammed into the country yesterday, bringing heavy rains and strong winds that left thousands of passengers stranded in several ports in the Visayas and Mindanao.
